Amateur Of the Year for 2021 is a member of the Hamcram team. In December 2018 she had already passed the exam but attended the Hamcram. Since then, she has attended another 9 Hamcrams, but now covers the Regulations questions and provides lollies.
I run 3 topics using Plickers – for the last 4 Hamcrams she has been using Card 4 and has achieved better than 90%.
When the new lights were fitted at the front of the hall, Cath was adamant that a switch was required to turn off the 2 lights in front of the screen. A switch was duly fitted, and she is calling it Cath’s switch.
Cath has been a regular contributor to Hamlarks – at the working bee she was busy taking photos and getting names and callsigns – the article did not appear in the next Hamlarks and when I asked her about it she said Kelvin was going to halve her pay and might even sack her. She got to work typing up a couple articles – Kelvin may have to double her pay.
