A programmable robot rover
for first time programmers.

Overview.

The Rover project kit contains all the parts to make a two wheeled, dual motor robot truck. The controller electronics uses the widely available PICaxe microcomputer chip, which can be programmed with freely downloadable Windows desktop software.
Using the PICaxe Basic programming language, the builder can learn how to control outputs such as motors, speakers, lights etc, and make the controller respond to inputs such as switches and sensors.

Features.

The basic controller board includes:
• USB programming connector
• speaker
• light sensor
• three LEDs
• two bumper switches
• two reversible motor controllers
With these features the builder can invent a multitude of different projects by creating his/her own programs. Such projects can include, light following truck, simple skill games, whiteboard pattern tracer, alarm, timer.

Optional features can be added later, such as Infrared remote control, temperature sensor or servo outputs.

Support hardware.

A soldering iron and simple electronics tools are need to build the kit.
The Rover 6 can be connected to a Windows PC though a standard MiniUSB cable.
