Workshop Worries – July 2020

We arrived at clubroom at 9am on 9th July 2020. The workshop was flooded again, 2nd time in two weeks.

We explored outside, to discover that the problem persists. Previous attempt to move bricks and loosen up the dirt has just ended up with saturated ground, and more flooding.

Pick up the phone and call Bruce for help. He was at the clubroom in less than an hour, and gots straight to work. Spot the depth of the shovel So, it is hissing down and Bruce keeps digging. An hour later, Bruce is soaked, but the workshop much less so. A small carpet cleaner was adequate to pull up 10 litres of water from the carpet near the door.

Look at that gap between the bottom of the door, and the flood-water after Bruce has been at it. So next time you see Bruce ZL3TDF and, please pat him on the back and say thank you. This really goes beyond the call of duty. Thanks also Blair for the loan of the de-humidifier, and keeping an eye on things. Also to Rory ZL3HB for the final car park work.

There is now a pile of soil in the car park. To avoid us having to cart it somewhere, members are invited to remove any soil they require – first come, first serve.
