Modernizing the TR105 & Condor SAR radios a club project.

Those who were at the clubrooms last night would have seen the TR105 and Condor conversion to an 80/40m QRP VFO rig by Andrew ZL2PD
This builds on the sugar cube VFO project to enable the TR105 (5W PEP HF SSB) and the later Condor (1W HF QRP SSB) a  two channel crystal controlled transceiver designed for Search and Rescue in New Zealand in the early 1980s.

The remaining issues to solve are

  1. getting a new front panel for a reasonable price – see attached
  2. updating the power supply – it used to use 9 D cells and the Police used to bring a truckload to every SAROP and SAREX.  We want modern rechargeable for a reasonable price.

Please contact Ian if you can assist with either issue.
